What This Role Looks Like

This is not a just edit and export role. You are a personal brand strategist who happens to be exceptional at video editing — and you treat the Founder's presence like the product it is.

The Founder (Cedric) shoots the raw footage — talking-head clips, voice notes, behind-the-scenes moments, podcast and webinar recordings. Your job is to make that easy and to make it shine. You decide what the calendar should look like, you tell Cedric exactly what to film and how to say it, and then you edit what he sends back into a steady, high-performing stream of short-form content.

The bar for this role is trend fluency. You live inside the world of personal branding — you know what's working for founders and creators on LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube right now, which hooks and formats are breaking out this month, and how the best operators are building authority and audience. You bring that intelligence into every calendar and every brief, and you have a clear point of view on what we should create next and why.

Key Responsibilities

Personal Brand Strategy & Trend Intelligence (Lead)

  • Stay relentlessly current on personal brand trends and strategies — study how leading founders, creators, and B2B personalities are growing on LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, and translate that into our content
  • Develop and evolve the Founder's content pillars, narrative themes, and positioning so the brand feels consistent, distinctive, and authority-building
  • Track breakout hooks, formats, audio, and editing styles as they emerge — and decide which ones are worth testing for the Founder's audience
  • Bring a clear, defensible point of view to every cycle: what to create next, why it will work, and how it ladders up to growing the personal brand

Content Calendar Ownership

  • Plan, build, and own the monthly content calendar across all platforms — mapping themes, series, tentpole moments, posting cadence, and distribution timing
  • Balance evergreen authority content with timely, trend-driven posts so the calendar is always both strategic and current
  • Keep the calendar full and forward-looking so the Founder always knows what is being filmed, edited, and published next

Founder Direction & Scripting (Differentiator)

  • Tell the Founder what to film. For every item on the upcoming calendar, provide clear filming instructions — the concept, the format, the angle, and the setup
  • Write scripts, talking points, hooks, and outlines so the Founder can record quickly and confidently without guessing what to say
  • Produce simple, repeatable shot lists and batch-day briefs that let the Founder capture multiple pieces of content in a single sitting
  • Act as the creative director of the Founder's on-camera presence — guiding tone, pacing, and delivery to fit each platform

Video Editing & Production (Core)

  • Edit the raw footage the Founder provides into 10–15 polished short-form clips per batch, optimized for LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook
  • Transform long-form assets (podcasts, webinars, interviews) into multiple high-impact clips, identifying the strongest hooks, soundbites, and insights
  • Apply on-brand text overlays, subtitles (burned-in and platform-native), transitions, and light motion graphics
  • Deliver platform-ready assets: correct aspect ratios, safe zones, duration limits, and thumbnail frames — with a consistent visual identity throughout
  • Produce occasional paid ad creatives and agency-brand content from briefs and raw assets (~20% of the role)

Social Media Management, Distribution & Iteration

  • Schedule and publish content across platforms, ensuring the calendar goes out on time and in the right native format for each channel
  • Write platform-native captions, headlines, and CTAs that drive engagement with a B2B and entrepreneurial audience
  • Track performance, report on what's working, and iterate based on engagement data and algorithm shifts
  • Organize and maintain a clean content asset library for easy retrieval and repurposing

Key Performance Indicators

- Audience Growth

Follower growth, reach, and authority-building for the Founder's personal brand across platforms

- Calendar Consistency

A full, forward-looking content calendar that ships on time, every cycle, without gaps

- Founder Enablement

Quality of scripts, hooks, and filming briefs — measured by how fast and easily the Founder can record

- Trend Fluency

Frequency and quality of fresh, trend-based formats and ideas brought to the calendar

- Engagement Quality

Impressions, engagement rate, shares, saves, and comments on published content

- Output Velocity

Ability to deliver 10–15 clips per batch within agreed turnaround across personal brand and agency content

Required Skills & Experience

  • Deep, current fluency in personal brand trends and strategies — you can name what's working for founders and creators right now and explain why
  • 2+ years editing short-form video for founder-led personal brands, B2B brands, or agencies
  • Proven ability to plan and own a content calendar across multiple social platforms
  • Ability to script and direct a founder — writing hooks, talking points, and clear filming instructions so on-camera talent knows exactly what to record
  • Proficiency in video editing tools: CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent
  • Motion graphics and animation skills (After Effects, Canva Pro video, or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook — including how content differs by platform
  • Experience with subtitles, text overlays, transitions, and platform-specific formatting
  • Experience with AI-assisted video tools (HeyGen, Opus Clip, Descript, or equivalent) and a willingness to build them into your workflow
  • Strong written English (required) — ability to write captions, headlines, hooks, and scripts
  • A portfolio of founder-led or B2B social content (clips, reels, short-form, or full personal brand campaigns)
  • A strategic mindset: you don't ask what do I edit? — you ask what should we create next, and why?

Nice to Have

  • Experience growing a personal brand or creator account (your own or a client's) with demonstrable results
  • Familiarity with social scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Vista Social, Agorapulse, Shield for LinkedIn)
  • Experience with podcast or webinar repurposing workflows
  • Experience with B2B SaaS, digital agencies, or professional services brands
  • Bilingual English/French or English/Spanish is a plus
